      Short version: CyberSafer collects no personal data. No accounts. No tracking. No cookies. Your session is anonymous and temporary. Nothing you type is stored or seen by anyone.
    

Who we are

CyberSafer is operated by FoxxeLabs Limited, a company registered in Ireland (Letterkenny, Co. Donegal). Contact: hello@foxxelabs.ie.

What data we collect

Personal data: none.

We do not collect your name, email address, age, location, or any other personal information. We do not require you to create an account.

The only data processed during your session:

Session token — a random ID (e.g. a3f8d2...) created when you start a scenario. It exists only in your browser's sessionStorage and in our server's memory. It is deleted when you close the tab or when the session expires (2 hours). It cannot be linked to you personally.
Your messages — the text you type in chat scenarios is sent to our server and to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the AI response. It is not stored after your session ends. See below for Anthropic's data handling.
Scenario progress — which scenarios you have completed is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device.

Anthropic Claude API

CyberSafer uses the Anthropic Claude API to power AI responses in chat scenarios. Your messages are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing: anthropic.com/privacy.

We do not send any identifying information to Anthropic — only the text of your message and the scenario context needed to generate a response.

Cookies

CyberSafer does not use cookies. We use two browser storage mechanisms, both stored only in your browser and never transmitted to any server:

sessionStorage — stores your onboarding acceptance record for the current browser session only. This record contains a timestamp, your stated age group (16+ or under 16), and a version number. It is deleted automatically when you close the browser tab. It is used to show the onboarding gate on every new session.
localStorage — stores which scenarios you have completed. This persists across sessions so your progress is remembered. It contains only scenario IDs, never personal information.

Children and young people

CyberSafer is an educational tool designed to be used by people of all ages, including young people under 16. Because we collect no personal data, the UK GDPR age of digital consent does not apply to our service.

We recommend that users under 16 access CyberSafer with a parent, guardian, or teacher present, particularly for scenarios that deal with sensitive topics such as cyberbullying and online manipulation.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights regarding your personal data. Since we hold no personal data about you, most of these rights have nothing to act upon. If you have any concerns, contact us at hello@foxxelabs.ie.

ICO registration

FoxxeLabs Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you have concerns about how we handle data that cannot be resolved with us directly, you may contact the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We will update this notice if our data practices change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
